Sorry Taylor
A recent conversation with Ross:
me: "I bought the new Taylor Swift album today for camp. We're gonna need it."
ross: "We are NOT going to be needing that for camp."
me: "Oh. Ok fine, maybe I wanted it for me."

A Whole Lot of Sweetness
Today we went strawberry picking with our friends Lindsey and her daughter Addie, and Meredith and her two boys Robert and William. Ila has been in a play group with these buddies as well as a few others for a little while now and it's taken me these long to finally snap some shots of them! Ila and Addie had lots of hugs to give each other which was refreshing after the other day when Ila whacked Addie over the head with a miniature frying pan. Not a mother's proudest moment. But today our afternoon was filled with strawberry picking, eating dirt along with those strawberries, picture taking, topped off with some amazing strawberry milkshakes! We are going to be eating strawberries at every meal for the next week. Enjoy the photos of these beautiful children!
Ila eventually learned not to eat the green part.
Addie held the record for eating the most strawberries.
Bertie looking adorable.

Meredith and the kiddos
I got to be in one! Thanks Meredith! :)
Welcome Belen Frances Mejias!
Our dear friends Ashley and Alex Mejias had there baby girl on May 11th at 11:38 pm! (Ashley should get most of the credit for that though) She was 6 lbs, 11 oz. and everyone is doing great. Thanks for letting us come see your sweet little girl! She is precious.

Appleeey
I'm not sure where Ila gets it, but she someone how decided to add either a "y" or "ies"to the end of almost everything she says. If she wants more apples she will say "moreeey appleeey" drawing out the "eeeey" sound into a higher pitch. It's funny but can get quite ridiculous. Here are some pics of her eating an appleeey on one of the hotter days last week...
Auntie DEESH!
Last Friday, my beloved Danielle came to visit for a night! She quickly became Auntie "Deesh" to Ila, and for a couple days after she left Ila would repeatedly ask me where "Deesh??!!!" had gone. So precious. Thanks for coming to visit us Deesh!! Come back soon!
We Have a Yard!
Recently (in the last month and a half, I'm just way behind on blogging) I transformed our small patch of yard into a place where Ila and I can play! I worked very hard tilling the dirt, pulling up roots, trimming back ivy, etc. before I even planted the grass. Then after that, we planted some flowers and got Ila a little climber with a slide. We have really been enjoying it. However it did not take long for our pesky dog, Sydney, to start adding her own touch by making patches of my beautiful green grass BROWN! Then, the other night I discovered that not only had Sydney been urinating on the grass (which was to be expected I guess), but my own husband had been doing the same! I was so angry I yelled "you go inside and pee in the potty!!" Oh well, I guess the grass is always greener on . . . the places where your dog and husband don't urinate.
