Valentines Day Sugar High Explosion

When talking to my very informed sister on the phone today, she asked me if I knew the origin of Valentine's Day. Thinking she probably had a more interesting answer, I didn't say "hallmark invented it" and let her tell me. She told me that it started with a guy named St. Valentine who wrote a love letter to his jail-keeper's daughter before he was beheaded. "Why was he beheaded?" I asked. "Did he do something really grande?" "No. He was just a really bad guy." "Oh" I said, "Well I still plan to get a nice sushi dinner out of it."
That must be the story single people tell on Valentines Day, perhaps while ripping valentines out of little children's hands and kicking puppies in the meantime . . . (just kidding sis! )
Anyway, speaking of puppies, (though not really, I just needed a segue),  we decided to have a few friends over for an impromptu play date involving the following . . .
There was cupcake decorating . . .
marshmallow eating .  . .
cupcake licking . . .
and there were icing goatees.
Here is Owen's perfect cupcake.
And now he shall destroy it.

While Ila looks in wanting more.

Then the party moved upstairs . . .

And some fairies hugged . . .
Addie declared herself queen . . .
And Carter just continued to be quiet and look cute.
 Ila became a princess . . .
And William became a fairy Mini Mouse princess singer.

There WAS indeed some canoodling between Robert and Ila . . .

and Ella got the shaft in pictures as usual because she's always entertaining herself somewhere.

And then came the Valentines Day Sugar High Explosion. One cupcake and a candy necklace later, we finally got her contained to this one corner of the local Stix Restaurant.

Chubster Baby

Though somehow I didn't lose my very round baby cheeks until after college, Ila has already managed to lose that extra weight she carried in the cheek region that I was so familiar with as a high schooler.  I was telling one of my C'ville friends the other day how large and round Ila was as a baby and it was hard to believe, looking at that slim little toddler running around. I rounded up some of the cutest and funniest pictures I have showing off her ever-so-round face. The cloth diapers bulging out of her pants didn't help.
