Jewelry Photoshoot with Hillary!

I had never done this before, but I asked my dear friend Hillary to come model some jewelry for me today! She was a natural and it helped that she's GORGEOUS too. I've been adding a bunch of new stuff to my etsy shop and am so thankful to have her help in showing it off!

p.s. if you want to order anything from ETSY, be sure to enter the coupon code "byrdblog" to receive a 10% discount. Thanks for your support!

Kristin Moore Photo - Portraits in the Park!

This post is for my Cville readers (or any of you VBers who want to come visit!)...

Kristin Moore, a local photographer and good friend, is doing mini portrait sessions at Monticello Trail this Sunday just in time to get your Christmas card photos ready. You get a 20 minute session with 10-15 digital images for $50. With such a beautiful backdrop and an amazing photographer, you are sure to be pleased (without dropping too much $$). Professional photos also make great gifts for family. She took some photos of our fam last week and I already love the few she's shared with me. Here is a little preview of Ila:

iPHONE Pics say it all

I realize I haven't been posting much lately, so I thought I'd share some pics from my phone to update you on the last couple of months. . .
 Ila turned 3
I just loved this pic of my Mema and Papa

I drove the Surf Hatty van for over a week while our car got worked on. Note that we couldn't fit all of Ila's bday presents in it for the trip back to Cville. Ila absolutely LOVEd riding in the van that only the campers got to ride in all summer. (This is safe right?)
I got to visit Ila's preschool class for her birthday celebration. Here is she is eating her peanut-safe icing-free birthday cake the kids all made together that day.

And here she is waiting in line to wash her hands. My little girl is so grown up!

Hilary Walker gave her beloved Lionel to Ila to take care of while she's in Scotland. She couldn't be happier.

Lots of pumpkiny things have been made by us this fall.

Alien Sydney!!

We always laugh at how every picture of Sydney (with a flash) looks like this

Catching leaves in the park!

I just love this headband.

"Climbing a tree"

Picnic lunch in the park

There was some frolicking in the leaves that took place.

Rivanna River

Occupying Cville one tent at a time. The homeless folks are happy to have some company - sleeping in the park, and not being the only unproductive people in town. Way to stick it to the man!

Playing in the bushes has become a favorite pastime.

Sunday brunch on the mall.

Alien Sydney!!

I hope you now feel fully updated!

How Appropriate

What could be a more appropriate reward for pooping in the potty all by herself today?

You guessed it - a chocolate cupcake from Crazy Cakes.

(I'll spare you the details of our poop-potty-training woes, but if you're interested in being in conversation about this topic, I could talk about poop for a long time). I'm so proud to not have to buy pull-ups anymore!

Ila's Quote of The Week

Ila says a LOT of funny things, but this one takes the cake recently. . . Yesterday after doing a little grocery shopping, she asked me "Hey mom, is there a giant under there?"

This is what she was referring to:

She really thought that maybe a giant, (like the bad giant in the story of David and Goliath) was tied up under the big blue tarp.
